Presentations of universal deformation rings
Let F be a finite field of characteristic ` > 0, F a number field, GF the absolute Galois group of F and let ρ̄ : GF → GLN (F) be an absolutely irreducible continuous representation. Suppose S is a finite set of places containing all places above ` and above ∞ and all those at which ρ̄ ramifies. Let O be a complete discrete valuation ring of characteristic zero with residue field F. In such a sit...
متن کاملExplicit Construction of Universal Deformation Rings
Let V be an absolutely irreducible representation of a profinite group G over the residue field k of a noetherian local ring O. For local complete O-algebras A with residue field k the representations of G over A that reduce to V over k are given by O-algebra homomorphisms R → A, where R is the universal deformation ring of V . We show this with an explicit construction of R. The ring R is noet...
متن کاملThe Complete cd-Index of Dihedral and Universal Coxeter Groups
We present a description, including a characterization, of the complete cd-index of dihedral intervals. Furthermore, we describe a method to compute the complete cd-index of intervals in universal Coxeter groups. To obtain such descriptions, we consider Bruhat intervals for which Björner and Wachs’s CL-labeling can be extended to paths of different lengths in the Bruhat graph. While such an ext...
متن کاملThe Neighbourhood of Dihedral 2-groups
We examine two particular constructions that derive from a 2-group G = G(·) another 2-group G(∗) for the case when G(·) is one of D2n , SD2n , Q2n . The constructions (the cyclic one and the dihedral one) have the property that x ∗ y = x · y for exactly 3/4 of all pairs (x, y) ∈ G × G. If G(◦) and G(∗) are such 2-groups that x ◦ y 6= x ∗ y for less then a quarter of all pairs (x, y) ∈ G × G, th...
متن کاملDiameter 2 Cayley graphs of dihedral groups
We consider the degree-diameter problem for Cayley graphs of dihedral groups. We find upper and lower bounds on the maximum number of vertices of such a graph with diameter 2 and degree d. We completely determine the asymptotic behaviour of this class of graphs by showing that both limits are asymptotically d/2.
